I already own several TakThree lighting products in my house (smart bulbs and ceiling lights), and we recently needed some lighting for our back deck. I have a very old dog whose vision is not what it used to be, and the stairs leading down to the yard have become a problem for him. He has even tumbled down them a few times. I wanted evening lighting I could put on a timer so he can safely see the steps.

I recently added these TakThree Outdoor Spotlights to my existing pro lighting system to fill in the lighting on the front of my house, and they were an excellent choice.
The process of adding them to my existing setup was seamless. It was extremely easy to use the “MG Light” app to find and add the new spotlights to my account, and from there, synchronizing the colors with my other lights was a simple matter of grouping them together. The app handles the synchronization flawlessly, ensuring all the lights on the front of my house match perfectly.
The spotlights themselves are very bright and feel sturdy and durable, which is great for outdoor use. They provide excellent coverage and the variety of lighting modes available in the app allows for a lot of customization, whether for an ambient glow or a dynamic light show.

I love these lights, but I’m tired of my grass guy trying to kill them. They are wired and have connecting cables between the lamps. I didn’t bury the wires because some major evolutions are coming for my lawn. Namely, I’m trying to revive it. All that aside, no matter how my landscaper beats them up, they still work. The remote control that is included is my best friend. The “MG Light” app grabbed control as soon as I turned them on inside. That has a lot more controls for these lights than the remote, but it is difficult to pair, and keep paired. The app doesn’t work so well outside. Every time the power goes out, I have to reprogram the app. Such a waste of time.
The lights are weatherproof. They’ve been in my garden for about a month. The only difficulty I’ve had is using the app. So, I use the remote. I don’t have to worry about pairing that. The set has preset patterns, and the lights are controlled enough for my taste. If life were easier, I would enjoy all the functionality of the app. Hey, these lights are fantastic aside from the app. Brilliant, colorful, and yes, a great source of outside nuance. They are durable and have withstood southern weather. Rain, heat, hail… It’s a good thing that it usually doesn’t snow here, but they would probably weather that too. They are the best feature of my yard.
